Our Story

Built With Passion. Filled With Culture.

Gangula Villa was conceived and crafted by Dinesh Attanayaka — a passionate lover of Kandyan heritage, art and craftsmanship. What began as a deeply personal architectural project became one of Kandy's most distinctive boutique villas, with every wall, carving and piece of furniture chosen to honour Sri Lanka's cultural soul.

Set on a quiet hillside lane in Aniwatte, the villa commands sweeping views of Kandy's surrounding hills. Guests wake to birdsong instead of traffic, step onto their private balconies to cool air and greenery, and spend evenings over home-style Sri Lankan meals in the restaurant.

With a private spa, resident artisans for wood and gem carving, cooking workshops and guided city tours, Gangula Villa is designed to be explored — not just slept in. Every experience on offer has been curated by Dinesh personally to give guests a window into the real Kandy, beyond the tourist trail.
